Issue1, 2000

Welcome

Welcome to the first newsletter of the "3..2..1..GO! Rallying!" Team. Our intention is to make sure you are kept well informed of our progress throughout the season.

As you are well aware, 2000 is our first entry into rallying at the highest level in Australia and there is much work required to ensure that the team is well prepared to take on this challenge. With the continuing support from you, our partners and supporters we are well on the way to competing in our first event - the Falken Tyres Rally of Queensland.

Falken Tyres Rally of Queensland

With the Falken Tyres Rally of Qld is fast approaching and organisation already begun, we are as well prepared as possible to mount a competitive challenge to the other teams also competing in the Aussie Car Class. The event will be on the week-end of the 3rd and 4th of June and we have applied to be invited to the media day also.

With Paul's excellent record in Queensland we hope to be high up in the starting order and expect much media interest in this, our first event for the year 2000 season. For any of our sponsors who will be available on this week-end be sure to come and say hi. We will ensure that refreshments are made available and you will be well-looked after.

The Car

Many long hours of hard work by all the team has seen the Holden ute become a reality. From comments and observations made to date our vehicle is guaranteed to be a head turner and generate much interest in the public and media eye.

We have included a number of pictures in this newsletter and encourage anyone with Internet access to visit our website for a complete photographic display of the car's build from start to finish.

Unfortunately at time of print we did not have completed pictures but testing has been positive so keep an eye on our website and the next issue of our newsletter for some action shots.

Internet Update

The website has also been created and includes all current sponsors names and logos. In addition, if you have a website it is possible to for anyone visiting our site to simply click on your logo and be linked to your own information. We would encourage you also to link from your site to our pages as the interest generated will be of mutual benefit.

Carline Muffler's Rally/Driver Training Days

While the team has not been competing actively, Paul and Anthony have both been promoting the team and ensuring any opportunities to publicise the team are not being wasted.

In April of this year they teamed up in Paul's previous rally car to be the official zero car at the Carline Muffler's Clubman Rally in the forests north of Brisbane. It had been hoped that the ute would have been ready for this event but unfortunately some delays in parts made this deadline unreachable. Still, judging by the number of queries and people that knew of the team and its intentions it is obvious that many folks are already aware of our intentions and will be following our progress with keen interest.

Paul was also an official instructor at two driver training days organised by the Qld MX5 club. These training days provide excellent opportunities to again promote the team and give something back to the motorsport community. With Paul's ever increasing profile it is expected that the number of driver training days that Paul is invited/ paid to attend will increase over the year.

Wrap Up

That about wraps it up for this issue of the "3..2..1..GO! Rallying!" newsletter. Again, we thank all of you for your support and we encourage you to make use of ourselvs for any promotional opportunities you may have and we hope that together we can see 2000 grow our respective businesses together.
